Framer + Shopify + Frameship
An Australian furniture brand moved from Squarespace to a bespoke Framer Shopify store, designed and built by one designer.
Jack Flanagan makes high-end furniture, products and sculpture from a studio in Western Australia, and the brand had outgrown its Squarespace site. Designer Jack Frost rebuilt it as a bespoke Framer and Shopify store using Frameship, giving a design-led brand a storefront that matches the work, without a development team.

A design-led brand caught between a template and a dev team
Every piece by Jack Flanagan is original Australian design, guided by a considered approach to form, material and proportion. From sculptural objects to bespoke furniture, each design balances function with a distinctive visual language. The original store on Squarespace could not carry that. Design options were limited, and every change was slow to make.
"The original store was built on Squarespace, which offered limited design flexibility and made iteration difficult." – Jack Frost, Website designer, From Frost
Moving to Shopify made sense for the ecommerce side, but standard Shopify themes could not deliver the bespoke, design-led experience the brand needed. The other option was a fully custom headless build, which would have meant hiring developers and paying for months of engineering.
"A fully custom headless build would have been expensive and required a development team. I needed a way to achieve that level of design freedom without the traditional complexity and cost." – Jack Frost, Website designer, From Frost

Shopify's backend, with full design control in Framer
The answer was to design the store in Framer and keep Shopify running the ecommerce. Frameship connects Shopify to Framer, which made that split possible without code.

Frameship is a plugin that connects Shopify to Framer. Once installed, your Shopify products sync directly into Framer CMS. You then design your store pages in Framer as you normally would, dropping in Frameship's pre-built ecommerce components wherever you need them, each one customisable, with the Shopify connection already built in.
"I designed and built the storefront in Framer, using Frameship to connect Shopify's ecommerce backend without writing custom code." – Jack Frost, Website designer, From Frost

Frameship components, styled to suit a minimalist brand
Jack Frost designed every page of the Framer Shopify store himself. Products sync from Shopify into Framer CMS, and Frameship's components make the pages shoppable. Each component is a visual design element he dropped into Framer and customised there, so the product pages, galleries and cart all follow the same pared-back look as the rest of the site.
"We used the full suite of Frameship components, including product variants, galleries, filtering and cart functionality, customising them to suit the brand's minimalist aesthetic." – Jack Frost, Website designer, From Frost

The build also goes beyond a product catalogue. Much of Jack Flanagan's work is made to order, so commissions and project case studies sit in Framer's native CMS alongside the Shopify products, giving the brand room to show the thinking behind each piece.
"We also combined Shopify's product catalogue with Framer's native CMS to showcase bespoke commissions and detailed project case studies, creating a richer brand experience than a standard Shopify theme could offer." – Jack Frost, Website designer, From Frost
